About the work

A wife and husband are lying in bed together at night. The wife, wide awake and smoking a cigarette, stares blankly ahead, while her husband lies beside her, pretending to sleep after just arriving home at 3:20 AM.

What makes this piece unique?

There is clearly tension between the protagonists. I wanted to express that even more using contrasting colours. Vibrant oranges represent deep anger and disappointment, dark blues stand for blissful unawareness.
