About the work

"The Proposition" captures the quiet tension of a pivotal moment. Six co-workers gather around a conference table as a proposal lies before them. What will they decide?

What makes this piece unique?

1. The wood cladding on the wall was bright orange in the first layer. I added a second layer of brown and handcarved the pattern of the wood in it while it was still wet.
2. The clothing and chairs of the men are painted very thinly, to expose the underlayer in bright orange.
